MightySprocket Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 what the fooks happened Ford and Citreon Works teams only... has the Suzuki blame the recession, Subaru are sitting out, Mitsi have been, missing for a while... could this be the end or a time for evolution again. Would be nice to see a more clubman based version been televised though I won't hold my breath when the world seems to like the F1 parades... oops i mean races
johnny_h Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 F1 = twice the speed of WRC with no roof. WRC = 1 car on the track at a time so no overtaking AT ALL.
MightySprocket Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 F1 = twice the speed of WRC with no roof. WRC = 1 car on the track at a time so no overtaking AT ALL. F1 = no overtaking most of the time, cars are controlled from the pits by computers, drivers just along for the ride WRC = driven balls out by skilled drivers on the edge
D4N Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 My dads god daughter Fiona has naved in that car. Stunning car it is I think its time to go s2000 for the WRC. Its cheaper so there will be more privateers cos i seen 2 s2000 fiesta for sale for £120 000 for 2! Better than £500 000 for a focus!! Shame it really is.. Entrys are strugling with the smaller events i do. No one has money!
NginEEr Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 i get confused between the avengers i know theres 2 one is daves and i forget the other one both lovely cars. hopefully my mk1 fez will be like the one in the pics
MightySprocket Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 the sport will survive, hopefully in a new format, maybe S2000, i think the 'big' money needs to be removed from it (all sports actually)

The other one is my dads mate forgot his name now though... Lives in Berwick

F1 = no overtaking most of the time, cars are controlled from the pits by computers, drivers just along for the ride WRC = driven balls out by skilled drivers on the edge complete bollox, last season driver aids were removed requiring driver skill. As for being along for the ride, i guess you didn't see top gear when the hamster tried doing a lap in an f1 car and stalled it a dozen times and when he actually managed a lap said it was the hardest thing he has ever had to drive. Put an f1 driver in a rally car and watch them rag it, put a rally driver in an f1 car and watch them struggle. Anyone can drive a sorted rally car around some empty country lanes but it takes real skill to pilot 200 mph racing cars around a track for 70 laps with 20 other cars on it. Give up.

I believe Loeb has been in an F1 off season and lapped the same time as the pro's though

Give up. your both talking crap! each has its own skills neither drivers could just jump into the others car and win! thats what the race of champions is all about the all round best driver (rally driver won) but still cant prove the best driver as every1 has skills in different areas so yes f1 is more boring than it used 2 be but the cars are awsome ralling is an awsome experience but not telivised as much as it should be imo! i luv both but would rather watch touring cars or rally cross XD
johnny_h Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I am right. End of. thread lock plz admin.
MightySprocket Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 Shhhhhh Rallying is better end of! exactly no argument END OF!!! just one more thing though.... funny how there's a lot of F1 fans now there's a brit winning eh Johnny
mk1super Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Rallying everytime closely followed by MotoGp
johnny_h Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I've followed f1 since the nigel mansell days. Oh and one more point, if wrc is so great how come you are all crying about how little coverage there is? Eh? I don't see itv and bbc fighting for exclusive coverage rights lol

NginEEr Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 rallying is beeter hands down i dont even class F1 cars as real which sounds daft but you dont see an f1 car passing you every day. but you see a rally developed car
Trevmk3 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 i like both, and touring cars and bike racing. i can watch most motorsports
Wessie Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 some proper cars in those photos, including lee batty's mk2 and ponds 6r4 rallying wins purely for the fact you can't beat the sound of a BD at full chat F1 is just like scalextric, follow each other round and let the computers drive the cars . . . As a spectator in rallying you can have get close to the cars and even change the outcome of the rally by helping cars get back on the road. F1 as a spectator your worthless, you pay stupid amounts of money to watch the cars come round in 60 formation laps RALLYING IS THE TITS.
tim Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 wrc has been crap for years and this year is the last year of the world rally reg, next year the S2000 rules take over which are being used this year in the IRC,4 cylinder non turbo 4wd car,207s,punto, fabia, corsa and they look the tits aswell 2 weeks ago eurosport had 4 hours of live stage coverage from the monte carlos IRC BUT Historic ralling is a hell of a lot better and a current ford works driver his having a mk2 built for him at the moment so here hoping he will be out on the RAC this year. Wyedean rally this weekend 180 cars loads of escorts out in the snow
johnny_h Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 rallying wins purely for the fact you can't beat the sound of a BD at full chat Most ridiculous statement ever Wessie. A BD sounds nice but next to an F1 engine on full chat it sounds like a bycicle with a playing card in the spokes

Wessie Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 historic rallying is where its all at the british championship is simply awesome, with so many nice cars and top drivers competing it is a super championship, every championship round theres loads of escorts/porches/sunbeams/minis etc etc. also the european championship is good, loads of exotic cars F1 sucks balls
