Finally 3 weeks after I promised to fit another to the car and get some full pics...I did it!

 

I think the front arches may need a grind back too as they used to slightly catch with my old wheels (they were a gay offset) but these oens stick out further.

 

Seeing it with its new shoes on has re-kindled the fire to get it finished for summer!

 

I think it looks the tits and its really gonna annoy the VW scene boys in my local area :lol:

all thats left to do now is:

locate a new door strip and fit it

sand and spray spare wheel well

sort out diff leak

'persuade' arches to make room for wheels

fit rear bumper

fit new engine/box and all other bits that comes into that section :lol:

put fresh fuel in tank as its gone off :roll::oops:

in my dark powerless garage thats not near my house itll take me a bit longer than that :lol:

 

ive gotta work out how im gonna get it up the hill on the driveway and to my hosue so i can get some electric to do the arches :lol:

you need a small genny! you should be able to pick up a unit capable of running a grinder, power drill, spot lamp etc (not all at the same time though)

 

I did once see a generator coupled to an arc welder (stick welder), as soon as you stuck up an arc it would rev its nuts off suppling the current for welding- actually worked rather well lol.

 

those wheels should have come on there from the factory!

thanks for the comments guys. im well impressed with them.

 

plus they are the original wheels that came with the car from new. so 28 years on it still runs on its original wheels :mrgreen::lol:
