caprinut Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Here are a couple of my mark 1's. Grey one has a 3 litre V6, 5 speed celica gearbox, v6 atlas diff. Lowered 2 inches front and rear. 13 x 7 inch hotwires with 215/50/13 bridgestone eagers. The bronze one is actually a German assembled mark 1. Was first registered here in New Zealand in Jan 1970 and was converted from left hand to right hand drive at some stage. Unfortunately the original 1300cc V4 was swapped many years ago for a 1300 crossflow. Apparently it put a rod through the block. Saved it from being cut up about 5 years ago, gave a paint job then handed the keys to my father as his 60th birthday present. Seemed only far as he has had to put up with all my cars over the years. Now he can get out and enjoy them as much as I do. Hope you guys like. Not sure how to post images of the cars sorry. Any help appreciated
Admin Vista Posted March 4, 2009 Admin Report Posted March 4, 2009 Welcome to the site, I spent a month in NZ last year and was impressed with the number of OSF's I saw still in regular use. Had a bit of an OSF flyer campaign while I was over there too You can't post photos or links till you've been a member over a week and have a post count in excess of 10 (we've had problems with spammers). When reach those milestones, photos are posted by uploading them to photobucket and posting the IMG links into your message. Celica gearbox conversion sounds interesting, do you have anymore details of it? Cars look nice in your garage!
Trevmk3 Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 welcome to the site mate as vista said the cars look nice
caprinut Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Thanks for the replies guys. Have ben browsing the site for a couple of months. Just love the photos of all the projects you guys have on the go. Trouble is I spend more time looking at all your stuff than I do getting on with my own I have to confess. I also have a mark 2 escort 1600 sport, a mark 2 4 door 1600 Ghia, another mark 1 capri with a worked 2 litre and 5 speed. Also a mark 1 gxl shell stored away, a 1968 XT falcon with 351 windsor v8. Just to make things worse I now have a bike license so also have a 2006 Suzuki SV 1000cc. So many toys, so little time. The only I think I'm missing is a Mark 1 escort 2 door like my first car. If only I could find some spare room hhhhmmm
