stevepeanut Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 ... are we going backwards I hope not. The poor people there must be terrified And those poor British soldiers that were killed - how terrible for their families just been on the radio about it, the 2 lads were a few hours away from leaving on a flight to afganistan for a tour there, so were unarmed and getting a pizza delivered for a goodbye meal before they took the flight. I really hope this doesnt start up again, the radio says the "real ira" have maybe only 100 members, so its a tiny minority left wanting trouble, theres familys over there in panic, some have kids who are 8 9 10 years old and are the first of a new generation brought up without the troubles.
SmokeEm Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 As stated in my post ref Miner's strike, I don't profess to understand these things at all. I just wish we could all get on. That goes for ALL religions/creed's & colours
Admin Mk2Jo Posted March 9, 2009 Author Admin Report Posted March 9, 2009 So .... are the group calling themselves the real IRA, not actually the IRA that we know of old?
Admin Vista Posted March 9, 2009 Admin Report Posted March 9, 2009 What they've done just doesn't make sense, why why why would they want to provoke the british government into sending the army back into NI in droves? What could they possibly stand to gain. Don't get me started on Martin McGuinness and Gerry Adams though pair of smiling assassins that should be behind bars! (Ian Paisley is no better) So .... are the group calling themselves the real IRA, not actually the IRA that we know of old? The Real IRA was (is apparently) a splinter group that broke away from the IRA in 1997. They were responsible for the worst atrocity of all the troubles, The Omagh bombing
stevepeanut Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 So .... are the group calling themselves the real IRA, not actually the IRA that we know of old? most of the old ira are meant to have stopped, real ira are a small group that broke away from what we'd know as the ira of old

But still as dangerous I would guess and capable of stirring up trouble on a huge scale
