morcheen Posted March 22, 2009 Author Report Posted March 22, 2009 it's 2 door not sure about the rear screen .pm'd you lee
morcheen Posted March 22, 2009 Author Report Posted March 22, 2009 i took this one while nearly tripping over in the dark ! shows some of the long rear 1/4 sort of comfirming it being the 2 door model.
Smudger105e Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 Classic and Capri owners are quite often touchy about their cars being correctly named. The coupe, 2 door car is a Consul Capri, and the 4 door 'Anglia' style rear window is a Consul Classic. No such thing as a Classic Capri
lotusless Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 i've owned about 6 or 7 of em + its called a consul capri!! it looks pretty rough + they are very hard cars to restore coz a lot of the panels are triple skined! + the original metal was much thicker than a cortina too, but they seem to rust more than corty's though
escortwithsunroof Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 dosent matter what its called, save it
over_head_cam Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 dosent matter what its called, save it

bortaf Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 If you have the reg number i know somone on the FCCOC commitee I will be seeing him next week when i go to me storage might be able to trace the owner and warn him PM me if you find the details
baz105e Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 if its in a council garage then get down the town hall and they will (or should) have a contact number for whoevers plot it is
morcheen Posted March 23, 2009 Author Report Posted March 23, 2009 i hope to go to the garage and secure the door.i will get the reg rob and look for the garage number as i'm sure it's council .
bortaf Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 If the council are anything like Enfield council they will just say "sorry we cannot divulge that info and we cannot contact the owner sorry sir". had the exact same thing happen to me with a crayford corsair, 2 years after i first re-locked the garage up the owner turns up to find his MINT crayford gone, he went fooking niuts when i told him i'd re-locked the garage 4 times and contacted the police AND the council about it over 2 years before, in fact it cost me £40 in bloody padlocks. Mind you it cost him a mint rebuilt crayford shell he'd been buying new parts for it to compleat the rebuild, saying that personly i wouldn't not visit occasionly, this bloke hadn't been to visit for 4 years Only 3 months ago i was trying to conntact somone about an avenger GT again in enfield in a broken into garage luckerly he visited after 2 weeks (i know his brother so word eventually got to him). Lots of garages on my estate full of classic goodnes
morcheen Posted March 23, 2009 Author Report Posted March 23, 2009 i can't beleive how people don't visit their lock-ups more often! it would have been better to have taken the crayford yourself and applied for the logbook, then the owner would have found out earlier and still had his car .the council couldn't care less.
Stu_B Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 I check my 'tina about once a week... and it's in a garage at my house
morcheen Posted March 23, 2009 Author Report Posted March 23, 2009 tried to shut the door but it's buckled to fook ! did the best i could, noticed that the head and gearbox are out of the car. pm on the way rob
bortaf Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 I'll see what i can do i rent me storage off one of the comittee members, he runs an "honest" 4 door as a daily in the summer and has done since it was new (he's 70 odd) never restored (as such) hense it's "honist" if not tidey or mint
morcheen Posted March 29, 2009 Author Report Posted March 29, 2009 went to have a check on the car tonight, garage door still how i left it.i'm sure the owner does not know about the door being broken.what to do next ? any news bortaf ?
