Odds are, your's was built in mid 1973, as they were being sold so quickly back in those days

you can date the build date of your car from the vin number any ford club should be able to help

If your car was registered in Sept 73 I'd say there's a 0% chance it was built in 72.

 

A K reg is safe is K runs from Aug 71 to July 72, and an early L reg can scrape in too.
