shaved rear handles 4 door - pic request

does anyone have any pics of a 4 door escort with the rear handles removed and filled?

Im debating whether to do it or not as im in process of prepping the body before paint

dont you need them for the mot mate ur some way of opening the door from the out side

 

i dont know just thought id ask has a mate removed his front door handle and had a remote kit and it failed the mot hashe had no back up to open the door in a hurry form the out side,

 

id check mot rule's first if i was you

i wouldnt do it in my opinion they dont look right and its as if you want a 2 door but cant afford one

Mine was already done when i got it but i liked it and if i were ever to paint a 4 door mk1 id do it again

It looks like a 4door without rear handles to me,nothing more nothing less,if people want to think otherwise let them get on with it mate its your car

Did you have any issues with the mot as lee suggested??? im not 100% sure if thats true other wise the mazda RX8 wouldnt get through the mot (doesnt have rear handles either)

best thing to do is go ask at your local mot station i would do that first

i am in the middle of doing this with mine mainly cos i want mex stripes on it but i do like the look alot. also dont like the fact the door handles are high at the back so problem solved get rid of them lol. been all thru the mot thing its not a problem as long as the rear doors lock shut and there are front handles its not a problem

Looking great Taz. Did you just use body filler to fill the holes or did you weld a plate in?

probably a silly question but is there a reason why I cant just fill the "dimple" in the door with filler and just use fibreglass where the handle goes through the door?? I cant weld so trying to think of alternatives
