brake tester ?

dose any one no how this works ie how fast should you drive when you aplly the brakes and what reading should i be getting its an old tapley brake tester

on the top you should have stamped on test & free,pot it on free & set to zero then move the little lever to test put on the floor of the car n/s then drive at approx 20mph then brake firm & gradual then record the reading divide by the veh weight x by 100 which will give you a brake percentage,do the same for the hand brake but keep the button in

Its a De-accelarometer or a tapley meter, its what the MOT man should be using if you have an LSD fitted or on 4wd viehicles
