Owned me current Cappa for a couple of years now and finally decided to see how many ponies shes still got.

138BHP @ Flywheel

160lbs/ft torque

Shes a low mileage 2.8i; 45k. Full SS Janspeed exhaust system & Janspeed manifolds. K&N panel filter

That any good?? I know ford originally quoted 160BHP, but then 150BHP when they put the the Cologne in the Sierra.

thnk that explains why mine keeps up with 2.8's, i was doing 155 lb/ft but only 117hp off a lightly breathed on (hi torque cam, leccy fan & ign and 38dgas) 2.0, but my engine doesnt weigh the same as jupiter :mrgreen::wink: ive always been of the belief, as long as the car feels fast enough to you and your happy with it for what youve spent, youve done well, i only went the rollers to satisfy my curiosity :D

those outputs sound good to me, like has been said, ford over quoted the colognes bhp figures when new, and i know a 2.9 feels alot faster than a 2.8  still something about an injector capri thats so right tho :ykt:

What cam have you got in it? I've always been a subscriber to the "Torque wins races, BHP sells cars" rule.

Had my '74 Capri on the rollers today.

Engine 2.6 V6 on standard carb,'81 2.3 heads K&N filter and Janspeed headers/Ashley exhaust.

After some fiddeling with larger jets to make up with the K&N filter found 125 bhp@ 4812rpm / flywheel

179 lbft @2409rpm

Ford rated the 2.6's @ 125bhp@5300rpm in the earley days but we all know even in the earley days Ford was optimistic so its nice that I finaly found the horsepower Ford advertised with :mrgreen:
