Price of Capris going up...

Been watching an Ebay auction for a 2L MK3 Capri. Made £1700. Price is definitely on the up for them. It's nice to see after years of watching Essies fetching silly money. I suppose it was inevitable really, especially as Capris are rarer than Escorts.

I am sure there going up - sold my escort mk2 project and was after a working example- picked up a 2 owner 2.0 laser last week £750 with 12mths mot just a few bits of welding to sort out and then the modding ! but first some driving!

But the increase in pricing is very bad news for all of us.

 

look what happened with the escorts, im dreading capris going the same way but sadly as long as theres numpties about with more money than sence then it will happen, as soon as that happens il sell up and move on.

 

old forsds were meant to be affordable cheap fun, we have lost our way i believe and sadly too many poeple willing to cash in in things whilst all the idiots willing to pay it, before long somats gota give.

I paid £1000 for mine 2 months ago.

The one before that was £850 (4 years ago)

 

I don't see the price of 1.6/2.0 models going up in value a bit a problem - helps to keep that out of the banger price range.

 

2.8i's now seem to be fetching stupid money though!

payed £300 with 11 months mot and 5 months tax i saved it from the banger track im the second owner and its never been smoked in oh and it had 47000 on the clock first time round

I see its a private listing and it went for exactly what it was advertised for in the classifieds, its about time fleabay stopped people hiding the bidders identities...

Paid £1700 for mine back in 1991 - probably mugged back then, but it's worth more now so I have not lost, even with the resto about 10 years back !!
