my mates got a 2.2ht pinto on 45s in his mk2 escy it revs to 10k & goes like f**k it made 196bhp on the rollers & cost 4k to build 4 years ago.

Sounds very nice mate,but i think he telling you a line on the rpm.

8500 would be the very max on a ht pinto,mine is around 8250.

I dunno, i'm pretty sure my brothers is built so if he did accidently rev it to 10-11k (like going from 5th to 2nd on lol)it won't blow up, of course it DOESN'T run that high, it just a precaution.

 

By then all the usuable torque has gone south anyway

as darren said 8 grand from ht and most off arrons pinto are 210 bhp

he has had more out off a pinto but no where near 245 you can not get that from a pinto with a pinto head, and steel bottom end generaly dont give more bhp it make it more reliable 10,000 rpm no chance
