urgent help needed asap

hi,

 

i can't find a socket to undo the gearbox plug, can i just fill it up by pouring the oil down the gear leaver?

 

and how much oil does a 1600 gearbox need for a mk2 escort?

You usualy don't need the socket, the wrench has a square tip to........

This how I did it this morning to top up the gearbox.

from memory you can use a 1/2 inch rachect or t peice that will fit....if bigger then grid down

yeah i thought the end of the ratchet was fine but it needs a half and i haven't got one. gona go grind something to fit

no there is two types i think, one with a angled cap and one with a normal one

lol i know that now, should have asked before taking it all apart and fitting my old one to find its not the right on and having to put it all back.

 

my friend spotted a black rs2000 last week on covenrty road was that u?

 

also i bought a 1600 box from escort tec last year and now it all fitted into the car, it goes into reverse even when going forward, my old 110 box i had to put the gear lever down 1st,

 

anyone know what this might be?
