Savvi Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 I have to do a 2 hour drive each way to pick up a 67 Mustang wondering how much fuel i will use driving it back ? Approx only 80 odd miles but crap roads no motorway. Anyone fancy a guess i will post the answer tomorrow evening
countrybumpkin Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 i recon it'll use about 5.5 gallon of petrol
mk3cokebottle Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 if its the 428 manual about 11mpg auto about 9mpg if its the 302 manual about 18-19 mpg auto about 15-16 mpg then it depends if the manual is 4-5 speed as the 5 speed will do about 5 mpg more yep i know me yanks im taking it that it is a v8 and not the six pot i reckon your trip about 9-10 gallons there n back and about 7 in the stang if your just driving 80 miles n not 160
Savvi Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Posted May 22, 2009 Mustang 390 GT packs a 6.4-litre engine punching out 320 American horses – and one of the finest V8 soundtracks in the world. Quote i found on this car
marky4 Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 depends how heavy your right foot is i'd say 7 gallons
Trevmk3 Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 depends on how happy you are on the throttle though, if you keep testing the sound of it then you may need to fill it up before you get home
missymoo 181 Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 I'd say just drive and enjoy it, after all you wouldn't ask an old lady how much she would drink. Having said all that I reckon you'll get about 12 to the gallon so 6.6 gallons! But enjoyment factor is way beyond that
Savvi Posted May 23, 2009 Author Report Posted May 23, 2009 Well we got back ok !!! i was surprised how little i used kept it to a steady 60 ish ......... except one small blast on the bypass Put £40 worth in when i picked it up and say i used just over 2/3 of that which would be about ????????????????????? I wasn't worried about how much it would cost, i will put it on the final bill, just curious as what they do to a gallon if driven carefully Maybe i should see what it will be on the return journey driven a little harder ................ or maybe not as it's a customers car and tbh it's a nice car to drive gently and more enjoyable !!!
Savvi Posted May 28, 2009 Author Report Posted May 28, 2009 Thought i'd share a sneak preview of this one and the Audio install i'm part way through with a few pics Hopefully once fully finished this will be suitably hidden and discreet install.
Retro-gone. Posted May 28, 2009 Report Posted May 28, 2009 now thats where i could have my speakers at the sides in the boot ! savvi... we need to talk!
Savvi Posted May 28, 2009 Author Report Posted May 28, 2009 The one on the left is for the 5 channel digital amp the other side is a pocket lined with carpet to even it up a bit, tomorrow all the bare Mdf is going to be trim where hopefully they are going to make a custom boot floor carpet to bring it all togeather. What you see behind the rear seat is what i mean't for you to do on your rear parcel tray Tony, it's all removable inside the car with a quick connector for the cables
