wild pete Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 1 week to go and ive got problems ,basically ,pinto on 45,s .one of my barrels is massively overfuelling , i swopped the carbs over and it confirmed it is the carb , at idle and light throttle it keeps wetting up the plug ive checked everything ! except a complete carb strip down ,but wondered if anyone knows wot may cause this so i have an idea where to look
Supercharged Nat Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 mixture screw? float height/ needle condition. Im not too familar with the 45's. maybe theres leaky gasket on the barrel or the carb?
wild pete Posted May 23, 2009 Author Report Posted May 23, 2009 ah think i found the prob , this has been a strange one coz it didnt give a problem all the time , some days it was ok , i narrowed it down to one barrell after swopping carbs over to confirm that it was fuel problem . even tho the choke mechanism is wired shut and i dnt use it , the pin that holds one of the quadrants in had worked loose allowing the plunger that is the choke enrichment to get jammed up , this would happen when the carb spat back ,causing that barrell only to be on choke .two screws undone take off choke mechanism tap retaining pin in job done . has took me weeks to get to the bottom of this
