bomber1 Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 how many turns on a wheel nut should i have minimum? 6/7 the reason i ask is previous owner has put great long studs on the rear and i want to cut them down but dont want to make them to short
bortaf Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Personly as long as the stud comes at least level with the outside face of the nut or through it, it's OK, i wouldn't want to trust any wheel nut that wasn't using every single thread available
bomber1 Posted May 30, 2009 Author Report Posted May 30, 2009 just completed the job the fronts had 10.full turns off a wheel nut so cut the rears down to leave 11 seems alright. theproblem is im using closed in wheel nuts
