Noodles Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 Could you use bike carbs similar to trottle bodies on a pinto?
Tom Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 yes mate i think bogg brothers can make you a manifold for them
Posse Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 yes m8 r1 carbs but not sure if there suitable for tuned pintos?
Noodles Posted December 19, 2006 Author Report Posted December 19, 2006 Do you think bike carbs ar tunable for the pinto cos bike carbs are so cheap compared to webers.
Mr Sam Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 just rember the busa is a 1.3 your pinto is a 2.0 and if its tuned there going to struggle fueling it with enough air and petrol
johnboy Posted December 19, 2006 Report Posted December 19, 2006 just rember the busa is a 1.3 your pinto is a 2.0 and if its tuned there going to struggle fueling it with enough air and petrol Yeah, but you have to remember bikes rev twice as high as cars so need the exrta fuel. Kinda evens thing out a little.

quickrack Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 Its not engine size you look at ,but output. If your output on the bike carbs is similiar to the output of the original motor it will work fine with a little adjustment.
Fiesta Steve Posted December 20, 2006 Report Posted December 20, 2006 At the end of the day, a carb is a carb is a carb. It makes no difference if its off a lawn mower or yamasaki motorbike. You need to fit a carb the size your engine spec requires. I've never seen a big horsepower pinto on bike carbs, because they don't flow enough air. But if used as a replacement to twin 40's or maybe 45's, they'll be fine.
