You are all welcome to join us, take part or just watch Round 4 of our drag challenge which will be held at York Raceway this Sunday 6th July. It's not too late to take part and you can just turn up on the day and race :thumbsup:

We would really love to see as many of you as we can at the race-track whether it is to race or just show your support for the massive effort being made by the Southerners travelling oop North  please come over and introduce yourselves :D Some of us will be there camping on Sat night (and poss Friday night too) and so you are welcome to join us for a few beers ... just bring your own tent :D:thumbsup:

See here for more info http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... sc&start=0

Full coverage is by Classic Ford Mag too so you may just get your pic in the mag :D:thumbsup:

forgot all about this, York raceway is only 30 mins from here. Fingers crossed we aint got anything planned this weekend. Hopefully be there to watch, and if I can get an atlas axle diff cover gasket I'll be able to enter. Mines dripping a touch of oil, so probs wouldnt pass scruitineering. Might come up and camp on the Sat night, just bought a new tent that needs a trying out.

We use to race there in the early 90's and it was fun then

Heard it hasn't changed much either

York isnt bad in a car, but its fookin scarey on a bike! I ran a 10.5 there on my old 1200 bandit.

Problem is, the longer you take to brake the worse the surface gets.

So its either

Brake hard quickly after the finish line and risk coming off

or

Brake more gently, but the further you go, the worse the surface is

But you'll be ok in a car

Just cleared it with my doris, nothing planned this weekend. So we'll be there Sat evening onwards. Got 2 atlas gaskets on their way, so should be able to enter once thats changed.

You gotta bear in mind, the pod is the number 1 drag venue in the UK, wheres York is more of an old runway in a farmer's field.

if you enter the osf challenge it doesnt matter what your engine is. But at york, you will probs still be put in a run what ya brung class. You'd be in class C, supersports car 1600 up to 2000, without turbo or NOS. Cos I think your zetec 2.0 engine capacity is below 2000 (it will be something like 1988cc). My 2.8 capri will be in class D - touring car, over 2000 without turbo or NOS

dont worry about getting a place, I've never seen York turn anyone away
