Whilst both options are good ones I would go with webers.

They work, they work well, they're easy to get bits for and perhaps most importantly you can go anywhere to get them tuned / set up. Whereas most places haven't a clue about bike carbs and may not be prepared to touch them.

Twin 40's are OK. Everyone seems to say you must have 45's on a pinto, but I like the 40's on mine. I've got Dellortos, which again seems everyones second choice, but i haven't had any issues with them. Both of these options are often slightly cheaper than Webers or 45's.

Just remember that bike carbs are a 'cheap' alternative to twin weber/del'lortos.

I would go with 45 as you will have more scope for tuning them if you do any more to the engine. 40's will be on there upper limits on a mild pinto whereas 45's will be happy to provide more fuel when needed

Webers or Del'lortos? your choice ive always run del'lortos and had no trouble running, tuning or buying parts for them

use dellorto 45s there much better then webers

i wouldnt say much better? used both and had no problems with either, personally i'd go for webers as they seem to hold there value better

i'd go bike carbs, just as much power as webbers but loads more economy, but don't buy them from boggs, and thats speaking from experience, but they don't sound as nice as a snortin set of webbers :(
