zscort Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 I've got a Sunstar British Airways MK2 rally car and want to remove the rally graphics, they look like water slide transfers...is there an easy way to get them off without damaging the paint as I don't want to respray it? Also is there a way to remove the wheels without snapping the buggers off?? Cheers guys
Kieran Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 I need to know how to get water slide transfers of aswell because i want to remove the rally decals of an escort cosworth ive got, So if anyone could help it would be great
mk1super Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 T-cut rubbing compound is way too harsh. you may also find they can be scraped off with your nails on them sunstar ones Removing wheels I turn em upside down and slide a stanley knife into where wheel meets axel and gently but firmly prize em off, it will snap off break calipers though be careful not to use too much force on one side instead try prize each side equally all the way round base of wheel if poss..... as too much force on one side will snaps axels
1300 sport Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 To remove any transfers use acetone free nail polish remover (also works on tampo printing)
zscort Posted August 1, 2009 Author Report Posted August 1, 2009 Cheers guys Used fingernail/lego brick as a scraper, then T-cut on the stubborn bits. Annoyingly the red decals seem to have bleached the paint slightly...spent 2 hours with Farecla compound but you can still see them very faintly in some lights Still here is the finished article...not much really not bad for a beginner tho
