Hi guys I've just joined up today,I've looked in on this forum many times over the years, it kept my appetite alive for the old fords, capris especially.Back in the early 80's as a 17 year old I bought my first capri a mk1 1600 the car of my dreams and it was red, back then insurance was cheap parts were plentiful from any breakers yard, I kept the car for 9 years, over that time I more or less rebuilt the car I learnt alot about the old capri. At forty something and my heart ruling my head, yesterday I bought a you guest it a mk1 capri 2000 v4 with a knackered engine, I have looked the car over today and scared myself sensless just what have I bought, all that I learnt all those years ago I think has gone out the window, so guys over the next weeks months to come I shall be crying out for help and asking silly questions that I should already know the answers to, I hope you all can bear with me in restoring this poor old girl I've called oldblack.first job I'm going to do is strip the car down and get the engine sorted. parts for the car I think are going to be hard to find.Any one have a good front grill going? cheers
