SLEEPY Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Does anyone know how to work out the ratio in a gearbox. Is it a case of jacking up the back end putting into each gear, rotating the crank 1 full turn & seeing how many times the prop goes round or is there another way of doing it.
over_head_cam Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Someone here should have the info you need m8. What box is it?
SLEEPY Posted August 8, 2009 Author Report Posted August 8, 2009 it's a type 9 with straight cut quaife internals, which I bought a few years back and I can't remember the ratios
bortaf Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 If it's still on the car basicly yes that's thhe only way to check tippex is your friend
capri71 Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Counting is easy till you try to decide if the last bit is .6 or .8 of a turn Would quaife not have any info? might be worth the cost of a phone call.
