when you buy Gaz, After sales and shocks are pukka and i would say best shocks for the money

Had Gartrac shocks on my old Mk2 and they were pukka but were on the car when i bought it.

gaz may be better for the money and on a road track car,if you are rallying then gartrac all day again imo.but they aint cheap

Ok so say money is no object (it is, but we'll say its not for argument sake), would Gartrac be the preferred option for a fast road/track car?

And re money, Gartrac are only around £100 dearer aren't they? I'd prefer to go easy at the pub for two nights and get quality.

I have just fitted new gartrac struts.

By far the best i have seen.

Proven parts, and good guys to deal with.

With what i use my car for they will last forever.

Gartrac prices..................... :shock::shock::shock::shock:

Look at thier Cross members and mounts

There crossmembers are made from scratch and are very strong.

More suited to a rally car.

If your after a crossmember and mounts that sit the engine pissed in the bay there are loads on the market for 1/3 of the price.

I think at the end of the day you get what you pay for. I know for a fact that if i was taking my escort on a historic safari rally in the arse end of nowhere i would rather have parts that were built with fitness for purpose in mind instead of profit margins. Yes they are expensive. But its not like rally design where you have to spend half a day "Adjusting" it to fit. I havent gotten either. But when the cash is there. Ill be going Gartrac.

Gotta be a reason they supplied all the works Escorts to ford in the 70's!

But with the Gartrac Strut you still have to supply the insert. All you are getting is the body.

I would go for Gaz. Been using them on my race car for years with no problem, and the aftersales service is 2nd to none

Yep Gaz are also very good

Gartrac would surply a bilstein/proflex insert.

Never seen them use any used/cheap inserts.

Well when I say money's no object, it definitely is.

So Ohlins and Penske are well and truly out.

I still consider Gartrac to be reasonably priced (even though they are expensive if that makes any sense). So if its a case of saving for a couple more months and getting something of superior quality this is what I will do
