Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 16, 2009 Admin Report Posted September 16, 2009 Team Boss Flavio Briatore and Executive Director of Engineering Pat Symonds have resigned from the Renault F1 Team following the allegations of race fixing ... sounds like it's true to me Not something I would expect to hear from F1 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsp ... 258987.stm
SmokeEm Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 Deffo true - been going on for years too - This was only highlighted coz Piquet junior couldn't handle not being good enough to drive for the rest of the season
Admin Mk2Jo Posted September 16, 2009 Author Admin Report Posted September 16, 2009 Personally I don't give a stuff cos I don't watch it anyway It bores me
Admin Vista Posted September 16, 2009 Admin Report Posted September 16, 2009 F1 is the very pinnacle of motorsport and yes on occasion there are boring races on tracks that are difficult to overtake on but I love the technology that's involved and often it filters down to make our road cars both safer and more exciting (contradiction in terms I know) Sport fixing? It goes on everywhere and I suspect the two gents in question have fallen on their swords (like Ron Dennis did) for the greater good of their team in the hope that they don't expel the team altogether. So that leaves Nelson Piquet, dirty snitch or heroic whistle blower? Well as he only came clean because he was fired and would have kept schtum otherwise I'm inclined to go with the former, he grassed because he had a serious case of sour grapes. I suspect his motor racing career is finished too now though.
RossMK2 Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 i hate f1 now too much saftey and rules bring back the v12 era
marky4 Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 i do love F1 and watch it often but have to say all the off track activies are better than the racing
caprinerd Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 its a computer racing a computer imho
Dom Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Don't know about dirty snitch or heroic whistle blower, if he was genuinely trying his hardest and he felt like he was getting a raw deal and being stitched up, then you can sort of see why he would. Eye for an eye and all that
Trevmk3 Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Renault arent the first to be found race fixing like when ferrari were trying to get shuey to the title and the time when shuey wanted a close finish and backed off too much i dont mind watching it but it is very boring at times, watch the first corner and thats it i much prefer Bike racing but the BBC have now screwed all that up as you never get to see the podium after the race unless you red button it yet F1 stays on for an hour after the race so that Eddie Jordan can moan like a little old women about how much he hates the KERS cars

Ergo the faster machine almost always wins. Oh and how do you know Eddie whines about Kers if you only watch the 1st corner?
MM77 Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 I'm a little bit of a fan Went to the following races in 2008: - Australia - Malaysia - Bahrain - Spain - Monaco - Britain - Canada - Belgium - Singapore And in 2009: - Australia - Monaco - Britain - Abu Dhabi (hopefully)

Oh and how do you know Eddie whines about Kers if you only watch the 1st corner? my brother watches it but bike racing you tend to have more passing, yeah there is the fact that you will have the same few bikes at the front as they are the factory bikes with huge money put into them as apposed to the customer bikes but them top riders will jockey for postitionand pass each other which you dont really get in F1 until someone pits or puts it into the kitty litter
