hi just brought some 40s for me pinto what fuel pump do i run will the standard machanical pump run them or does it have to be eletric pump

You really could do with a Facet pump & you also need a regulator to drop PSI to about 2.5psi

I know someone who runs 45s on his harris engine just using the mechanical pump with a fuel regulator he has no problems at all

lotus cortina,s and twin cam escorts ran twin forties with mechanical pumps as standard

You don't need a Facet, the mechanical pump is good for up to around 140bhp. If the carbs are in tip top condition you may get away without a regulator too, but I strongly advise fitting one.

Hard to say but 130bhp ish without 40's and 140bhp ish with.

 

As said, you can get away without but ideally you should upgrade

if you moding i would defo get a facet pump and a regulator

As above, I ran a x-flow on 45's with a mech pump, it was ok but leaned at the top end, melted a piston eventually Expensive mistake !!
