They owned the car on the left first before buying the car on the right (from friends who were emigrating to South Africa) and then selling the left to his best man. Left one was basic with chocolate interior whereas the right one had everything and had also been turboed by the previous owner (a mechanical engineer). I dont know the fate of the one on the left but the one on the right was written off a week after having a full length Wabasto sunroof fitted (not my ideal but hey it was the 80's) by a guy not paying attention on a roundabout. He nearly ended up dead as well because not only had he wrecked my dads pride and joy my mum was pregnant with my sister at the time...
