Baz. Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Exhaust wrap ... shitePaint ............. shite Camcoating .... the bollox Camcoating?? tell me more please................. Isn't that the ceramic coating? Looks the nuts in silver yes mate, thats it
Retromotorsport Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Been using them for years ... its cheaper in the long run than wrapping .. my old racecar was done about 15 years ago 8 years running and still looking good Have a look here , pic of dave whites manifold i built for him and what it looked like after coating http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread. ... ht=Camcoat camcoats site... mention me when talking http://www.camcoat.u-net.com/Exhausts.htm
Retromotorsport Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Camcoat do inside and outside in satin black then the cermachrome outside for around £150 i belive ... 3 layers and the underbonnet temps do drop .. we tested it And i know someone who tested it on a dyno... the made improvements in the midrange, same maifold designs on the engine, just one was camcoated
Admin Vista Posted December 30, 2006 Admin Report Posted December 30, 2006 Does look very nice I'll grant you, I'd love to have them looking like that but £150 is more than the manifold cost Plan B anyone?
Retromotorsport Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Vista... its a one off buy.. the manifold wont rot, if you wrap it it only last a year ..3 years and you spent 150 anyways and probably bought another manifold as well as the wrap rots the manifolds. Honest .. i dont get anything from Camcoat, i just send customers there and they give a little help to the customers. So i'm not gaining mate.. you are, honest its the bollox. Jon Bets mk1 V6 has his pipes coated and they look the nuts too
Admin Vista Posted December 30, 2006 Admin Report Posted December 30, 2006 Fair enough (digs deep into pocket again) Would I need to assemble the three piece manifold first so it went to them as it fits on the car, or just send them it disassembled?
Retromotorsport Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Give them a call first .. they will advise you best
CéDriC Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Expensive but i think it's the way to go if you have a good manifold...
Admin Vista Posted December 31, 2006 Admin Report Posted December 31, 2006 Give them a call first .. they will advise you best Will give them a call in the week, thanks for the tip.
Admin Vista Posted January 4, 2007 Admin Report Posted January 4, 2007 Had a chat with them yesterday, they quoted £160 to £180 + Vat for Cermakrome, by the time you've accounted for delivery to and from it'll be an expensive manifold, but I take the point that it'll never need replaced, plus it'll look the dogs danglies.......
