caprinerd Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 looking for anyone thats worked on fiats as i have a prob on a friends car so has anyone got experience on them that can guide me in the right direction (not the scrappy either as she aint got a lot of money and cant afford another motor)
caprinerd Posted November 12, 2009 Author Report Posted November 12, 2009 1.8 twin cam alternator has give up cant get it out through top or bottom just need to knoqw if im going to have to remover all the injection and intake system to get the thing out or if there`s another way i aint got a manual for it and cant find any help on line, so was hoping one of the members here can guide me a bit as to the best way to get it out
Ste-V Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 Ah I can't remember off the top of my head.. Would it come out if you removed the top engine mount then you could move engine up and down? Will get back to you with more info when it comes to me
caprinerd Posted November 13, 2009 Author Report Posted November 13, 2009 cars a brava 1.8 twincam piece of crap the alternator sits down the back of the engine at the bottom cant remove it from underneath as the drive shaft and sub frame are in the way and the whole of the injection and intake system run over the top of it the starter motor is down the back as well and i cant see any way of getting that out if it packed up with out removing the intake an injection system its a real pain to get to just hoping there`s a way of doing it with out removing the system
