Copey Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 drive time plays some classic rock, my dad called me up to tell me The Boys Are Back In Town by Thin lizzy was on, so i gave it a listen once in a while, sometimes a few good tracks pop up
rallyesport04 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 im the youngest at work there all old enough to be my dad i get subjected to listen to radio2 all day i would rather listen to radio1
Fiesta Steve Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 im the youngest at work there all old enough to be my dad i get subjected to listen to radio2 all day i would rather listen to radio1 I feel your pain I too am the youngest but luckily I have my own workshop with the tuner stuck on radio 1, but when I walk next door to the old persons workshop its bloody wogan, he's well old!!
ox Posted December 2, 2009 Author Report Posted December 2, 2009 i might be old but their still life in thiss old dog my xbox avatar slogan says officaly im to old to die young
jimbo Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 im the youngest at work there all old enough to be my dad i get subjected to listen to radio2 all day i would rather listen to radio1 You'd rather hear the same 30 songs on rotation? It's got worse than local commercial radio music-wise now, with presenters having ever-decreasing amounts of "personality" . Well at least until 7pm. The new music shows are still great. I've been listening to Radio 2 during the day for years now....Simply because they don't have the same repetitive play-list obligation as Radio 1. I started listening young because I was doing a load of driving for work and it saved me hours not sitting in jams/road closures. Admittedly Wogan cans get on your tits after a while though......although, unless I'm driving, I listen to Today on Radio 4 instead (that's just the news hound in me). And since I got a DAB radio, I'm listening to more 6music I do feel sorry for anyone who works in a workshop/warehouse, where they have to all share the same music. It's rare that you get everyone liking the same stuff, which means someone always loses out. In short, your age shouldn't dictate what radio you listen to. Your desire for good music should dictate it
Jiffer Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Classic FM or radio 4 lw for the cricket for me, keeps me calm through the day, then when working on the car its itunes

Your desire for good music should dictate it Radio 1 and 2 play lists are surprisingly similar. When they play a modern song on 2 you can bet that within a couple of minutes they'll play it on 1 and the other way round, I often have to listen to the same shite twice within 5 minutes.
PIG Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 radio 2 is great now imo.i never thought i would say that either i can assure you lol.moyles and nills both do my head right in. steve wright and now evans both great
antz Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 im the youngest at work there all old enough to be my dad i get subjected to listen to radio2 all day i would rather listen to radio1 Im 21 and the youngest at my work. They have radio 2 on all day everyday and im forced to listen to it. It does make me feel like I want to buy a brown jacket and complain about bus stops outside my house all day. Id much rather listen to white noise than any radio station.

I was thinking that as I listened to Chipmunk and Fiddy back to back on Ken Bruce's show http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/playlist/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/music/playlist/index.shtml Paloma Faith and Robbie are the only two songs on both...... Admittedly there are periods where, because of a rush of releases by artist who span both demographics, there will be more similarity. But I'm left wondering when R1 last played Jeff Wayne's WOTW, or The Jam.

jimbo Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 I was thinking I might ring up one morning next week...... I've been scoring a few 20's of late, and even getting the odd "three in ten" Although you can bet when I go on, I'll end up with three points
stuartp Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Id much rather listen to white noise than any radio station. agreed infact i was listening to lou reed's 'metal machine music' in the car the other day
