Running in a camshaft

Whats the rules when fitting a new fast road camshaft? No high revs for how long/miles? No low revs when first started???

Yes to the no low revs when first started but can't really see a probelm with high revs after that though.

 

As with all 'running in' threads I'm sure others will have different opinions, its a case of listening to what people say and take the advice that your most comfortable with

i've heard of running at 2000rpm from first start up on a new cam for the 1st 20 minutes??

as above 20mins held an 2000rpm then feel free to rag the tits off it!

Make sure the oil spray bar is bent at the corredt angle if its a kent cams kit or part....mine wasn't and the oil missed the cam completely and fooked it

2000rpm for 20 mins - make sure she's well lubed & as Tim says, make double sure that spray bar is properly aligned
