m1c Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 Someone at work was telling me about a friend of a friend who had a mk2 granada sat in his garage just taking up space. hasnt run for years due to engine issues but 'potentially' shouldnt need much to get back road legal, just engine and exhaust for MOT... think its worth enquiring about it? been saving for a capri but im coming round to the granada idea. maybe its the alchol?
zetecmk2 Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 just get it!!!! you can always sell it on but at least it'll be saved!!
wetandwindy3 Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 mk2 Granada's are nice especially if its a 2.8 ghia x
Pipster007 Posted December 25, 2009 Report Posted December 25, 2009 Anything is worth it if it's free
m1c Posted December 25, 2009 Author Report Posted December 25, 2009 i'll ask more about it next year when i go back think it may be out of my hands tho, never done anything as big as an engine change etc
mk1v4 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 just get it and then sell it and put the money towards a capri
zetecmk2 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 i'll ask more about it next year when i go back think it may be out of my hands tho, never done anything as big as an engine change etc it's only nuts and bolts!! you'll be fine!!
cortinasgoneforaburton Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Id be interested in it as i have a rotten mk2 2.8 that i am trying to restore and its got a mint engine
Grizzley Dell Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 its only a jigsaw made out of metal. if it dont work then its a good thing to learn on. nothing to lose dude.
ilovegrannys Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Get amongst it!!! Free is goooooooooood!!!!!!!!!!!!
dockertrigger Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 As the others have said, If it's free and you have the room then get it!, If the worse comes to the worse I'm sure a banger boy would still give you a good price for it (Not that i agree with banger racing classics).
m1c Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 thats the catch, its free to someone to restore it rather than banger race it
bigglesmk2 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 To be fair when a car is sold its sold and owned by someone else and if that someone else says they'll restore it but for unforseen circumstances cant then it might get sold on or scrapped or abandoned project or whatever.
