Posse Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Credit crunch job which does work is to spray it satin black

redrocket Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 what about the rest of the interior? seats and door cards? how durable would spraying/dying be?
LEONMEX Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 door cards i doubt it would take to vinyl for a long period, not so sure about cloth seats.
oxb1l Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 Reshellin my rs2 into auto shell so I need a bigger carpet and I sold it's own one anyways ,I seen a gallon of fluid for dyeing on fleabay but wasn't sure if it would be ok hopefully even cheaper than spray cans Bill
t33stat Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I sprayed an interior in a golf before, Made a rat looking car and wanted to go from beige to red, It stuck to everything except the door handles, It started to crack after about 3 months, If you want to do it go ahead its not difficult, Id take all the stuff out first, sand down any shiny bits with 800 or 1200 grit just to take the shine off to stop the cracking Then your good to go! Doesn't rub off either, Well it didn't for me anyway!
wetandwindy3 Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 hi Bill dying it is better a freind of mine did her firenza she had blue carpets and she dyed them black they look like brand new
t33stat Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Ohh and forgot to say The problem with spraying is that it feels "crusty" Never really bothered me because i didn't spend much time caressing the interior Ryan
bortaf Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 nice bit of carpet!! i sprayed my old headlining satin black, just the job Did the carpet in me Mk3 cortina with 2 tins of satin black, total cost £2.60 + VAT roof linning i use red oxid first cos the decent stuff has plastisiser in it and it sticks better to plastic than straight satin seems to ? bit crispy yes but softens up after some use but i will say its better on short L carpets not so hot on cut pile Ghia ones
