Can anyone tell me the difference of the quickshift kits and which one is best for the road and ive heard some of the make noise what does this mean?

Any help would be really appreciated

kit = converts your original lever. cheap easy method but Ive heard they can come undone.

proper lever= replaces original lever. rose jointed so rattles at speed.

Ive had my rose jointed quickshift on for a couple of years now and yes they do rattle. Pack it full of grease before you fit it and itll quieten it down...but lets face it. Ashley exhaust, tuned engine, old car.....you arent really gonna hear much anyway so a rattly gear lever wont make much difference!

plus the feel of a proper rose jointed lever is lush 8)

V8IAN has said it many a time, drill a hole in the side of the quickshift fit a grease nipple and pump it full of grease....hey presto a quiet rose jointed quickshift

I fit a quaife rosejointed quickshift in my viva because the standard one was hitting the handbrake after the pinto conversion. They do rattle but I'd be going flat out by the time it starts to vibrate and i put it on free to wait for it to die out (not that i will be doing 200mph, the gear ratios are really low). its a kind of top speed warning sensor to me lol

Nice one, if you had read my for sale advert a little quicker you could have had the same thing for nearly half the price :lol:

And yes they rattle like fook, even after being packed with grease. It still did my head in over the sound of a straight cut box!!! Best bet on a long journey is to wedge a 2 litre bottle of pop in between the seat and the lever

My mex is so loud anyway with the WCXM vibrating everything, twin 45's, 2.5 inch exhaust, no carpets or any trim, i think the lever will be the quietest part on the car
