im restoring my mk2 escort and whilst its in pieces i've decided to paint all the running gear, axle, propshaft, gearbox, struts etc, but i dont want to brush it on, id rather spray it, what paint have people used? cheers.

on moving parts under the car i wouldn't go for spray as they'll end up getting all chipped anyway after some time of use... in my opinion a careful coat of hammerite would be best

I'm using stuff called plasticote, you can buy it in B&Q.

Vulcan use it on their engine blocks, so a friend told me (forgive me if thats not true!)

It's meant to be very good at lasting.

poweder coating is shit, proper over rated imo  as soon as it is chipped, it starts to lift and you cant just tiouch it up like ya can with paint  a previous owner powdercoated the bumpers on my capri, after 12months half of it was hanging off  hammerite or por15, like has been said tho por15 needs a bit more prep but it looks better
