I am planning to take the estate for sandblasting and quick coat of primer, of course I do not want to sacrifice the escort running gear I will be using for this task, and i no longer have the original struts. I was gonna install those sort of trolley wheels but i found them for 30 euros per piece locally! almost as much as i bought the unconverted escort struts. I think that's a waste of money for something i am only going to use once.

What do you guys use there?

I have a trolley with lockable wheels which can, and will, be used for future projects.

So its not necessarily a one-off usage.

i have a piece of hollow section at home, was thinking of using that as a sort of front crossmember as it is long enough, and attach two trolley wheels to it - the rear of the car i have a spare axle which i can use, it's the front that i'm not so sure about.

alloy bodied heavy duty plastic castor wheels from an alloy tower are my favourite. Each wheel has a safe working load when stationary of 700kg so one in each corner would be good for a complete car to go on. Plus they have about 300mm of height adjustment to

Not sure how much they are though as i "aquired" mine
