Andrade Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I am planning to take the estate for sandblasting and quick coat of primer, of course I do not want to sacrifice the escort running gear I will be using for this task, and i no longer have the original struts. I was gonna install those sort of trolley wheels but i found them for 30 euros per piece locally! almost as much as i bought the unconverted escort struts. I think that's a waste of money for something i am only going to use once. What do you guys use there?
MM77 Posted January 4, 2010 Report Posted January 4, 2010 I have a trolley with lockable wheels which can, and will, be used for future projects. So its not necessarily a one-off usage.
Andrade Posted January 4, 2010 Author Report Posted January 4, 2010 i have a piece of hollow section at home, was thinking of using that as a sort of front crossmember as it is long enough, and attach two trolley wheels to it - the rear of the car i have a spare axle which i can use, it's the front that i'm not so sure about.

bomber1 Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 we have two 4ftx3ft trolleys with them wheels on. there great for moving the cars round and u can turn em around in a space not much longer than the car
pnwrs2000 Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 alloy bodied heavy duty plastic castor wheels from an alloy tower are my favourite. Each wheel has a safe working load when stationary of 700kg so one in each corner would be good for a complete car to go on. Plus they have about 300mm of height adjustment to Not sure how much they are though as i "aquired" mine
