orionmojo Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 cos my car lives outside i was thinking of a cover for it as it only gets 3/4/5 runs a week it just sits there- staying wet i got a shock yesterday when a window dropped off the sliders- it hasn't rained in 6 days and there was loads of wet leaves/muck in the bottom of the door . will a cover stop this, i mean one of those 30 quid silver things from hellfrauds. or will moisture still accumulate etc. i know she isn't a show winner, but it certanly aint no nail and i want to keep it that way. (no remarks about the cover either please )
antz Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 if my car was outside i would personally get a cover or chop down the tree its sat under
orionmojo Posted September 17, 2006 Author Report Posted September 17, 2006 that, sadly isn't an option. i just dont want to make it worse by stopping air getting to it etc.
bobmk1 Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 get a cover m8 well worth it.....we got a breathable cover for £40 from the local motor factors.....job done
Posse Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 yeah deffo get a cover there are loads of good car covers on ebay to just make sure on a dry day you take it off to give the car a good airing
pigeon Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 Those Halfords covers are actually pretty good, not the really cheap ones they the do, but the most expensive one is good. i bought one a while ago for a past car and they are really durable and go what they say they're going to do.
RETRO_AL Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 defo get a cover, ive got a cover for mine and its in a garage
orionmojo Posted September 17, 2006 Author Report Posted September 17, 2006 settled it then- its getting a cover thanks peeps like i said in the first post, it gets a run 3/4/5 times a week usually, but soetimes it jsut sits there for 3 days and thers so any water traps its not good.
Darren390 Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 The Capri lives outside on the drive so I bought a breatheable Tyvek cover from Halfrauds for £55. Would defo recommend a cover, although I do try and take the cover off once a week to air it a little
martymk1 Posted September 17, 2006 Report Posted September 17, 2006 I WAS THINKING ABOUT GETING ONE TO, BUT I'M WORRED ABOUT IT DRAWING TO MUCH ATTENTION TO MY CAR
PaulAshman Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 My car lives outside and a cover was one of the first things I got, money well spent in my opinion.
105Nick Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 My sisters MG Midget lived under a cover from Halfords for a while and it was really good, mind you anything's more water tight than a convertible MG top though you will have to tie extra rope around it across the top of the bonnet/boot as it did try and lift in strong winds.
