Hi all, how are you all.

My new engine is nearly complete and have just found out a place local to me have an engine dyno, they can run it in and set it up. Or i was going to run it in on the road but would take me ages as i only do 1000 miles a year then get it set up on a rolling road. what would you guys do in my position? im leaning towards engine dyno?

Thanks in advance

If you can afford it then go for it mate. Make sure they use your exhaust system to set it up with though.

My engine was set up on rolling road, took about 5 hours but the fuel and timing were set to set to the max right through the rev range, as said, they will need your exhaust, it was then checked on the road with a laptop running through the DTA management....

For the last few hp it will probably best to check it on some rollers even if you do dyno it. The inner wings and under bonnet temp can have a slight effect. As Sambo suggests, you need the to use your system too, or you'll need it RR tuned after fitting anyway.

What wrong with driving the thing for a bit?

As PIG asked, what engine is it?

Yeah i did wonder about the exhaust system, and i did think it would run different in a car as the temps and pull etc would be different, its a 2.1 pinto with stage 3 head etc, would it be wise to get them to run it in, then fit it to my car and get it on the rollers to be tuned?

thanks
