GT_lenny Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 all i want is something to allow me to act like a 7yr old in car parks (skids etc) so which type of diff will be best suited to my cockery and how often do the plate type ones need setiing up/new plates fitting
rallyesport04 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 full on sideways action a plate slipper will be better havent had my lsd long enough to warrant plates 2.8 specials had plate type too
rsdaz Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 plate type is what you want mate.my escorts had one in it for the 2 years i'v had the car and god knows how long before and i'v not had any problems with it.
Mexico Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 plate type in the 100e and its fookin mental ... got a atb for the Mk1 but yet to try it out. Plate type is snappy as ... great fun!!!
oldskooler Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 plate type is the only option mate. i run tran x english plate type slippers in my green car with zero probs and they do see a lot of abuse in fairness!!
GT_lenny Posted January 23, 2010 Author Report Posted January 23, 2010 no one got anything nice to say about the ATB ones-- whats so wrong with them?
DEP Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 ATB s are a fit and forget type slipper, plus they use normal gear oil, which is the reasons i bought one, Its currently in Jo s car at the moment, and i had no trouble gettting that sideways , It will be going into FOE when it comes back However i do have a plate type in my cossie mk2, and had no probs so far
PIG Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 as i can make out the atb type lsd's are better for drag racing etc, great grip etc off the line but looses traction on the wheel with less load when cornering hard.i will be corrected if thats wrong tho m8
RS2kSX Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 ATB ar great all rounder, never hear from it, sideways on demand and lifetime warrentee, plate diff taylored for track & rough, been in a couple and thought the rear end was gonna fall appart. im biast, i got an ATB and love it.
Fiesta Steve Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Its good to hear a some good things about the ATB, most say the plate type is what you want but most probably have a plate type and haven't used the ATB.
Mexico Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 thank god!!! sum positive info on the atb ... really not sure if ive done the right thing buying one lol
aden Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 ive got one in my motor, transformed it as far as im concerned, loads of grip off the line, sideways at will! only thing i will say is it doesnt donut very well, guess thats where a plate one comes into its own
GT_lenny Posted January 24, 2010 Author Report Posted January 24, 2010 i do like the fit and forget principle of the ATB's that and the fact theyre cheaper
Fiesta Steve Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 i do like the fit and forget principle of the ATB's that and the fact theyre cheaper Thats why I bought one, unfortunatly I'm yet to try it soI can't comment.
