Jiffer Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 like a prat I left the gas on on my mig and have found out tonite I'm out of gas, and need to fab up a small bracket for a fuel reg. I have got a full bottle of argon / co2 mix I used for some stainlees welding, will this do for 2mm mild steel plate? cheers
baz105e Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 as long as its inert (non flamable) gas it will be ok for 2 mm plate you wanna turn your amps and wire speed up a little

Fishtailparka Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 I use argon/co2 mix for all my welding. I thought most people did. CO2 is OK, but not as good as the mix.
mex255l Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 any inert shroud gas will be fine turn up the amps and get going
