spike105e Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Just bought a MK2 Escort as a new project now the Anglia is finished, have also a pinto and T9 'box that i want to put into the Escy and was wondering if it will go in with the standard steel sump or will i need the RS2000 ally one? and will i need an ally bellhousing? Cheers for any help.
Grizzley Dell Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 if i remember right you will need a rs2000 sump, dont think you need a alloy bell housing, though i could be wrong and as my beloved says i usualy am.
tazrocks88 Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 if its anything like a mk1 u can either get an ausy import steal sump and bell housing or u can use an rs2000 ally sump and bell housing (which makes a much better fit!) i was also told u need a set of rs ally mounts and ally alternator bracket and obviously rs2000 single piece prop! if u click on my sig most of the info of my mk1 is in the thread
bomber1 Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 the sump is usefull unless your good with cutting and welding the steel sump.the bellhousing is not nesercery but the startermoter bottom mounting lug need shaving down to fit and the clutch cable will pull at an angle on the clutch arm but it does work! the engine mounts and bushes are availble from rally design for about £25 the mounts are in steel btw. you will only need the rs alternator bracket if you have a servo in your engine bay.
