Guest pooface Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Due to a payment taking place does this not turn it legaly in to a Rallie? that would cause issues for peoples insurance and also the organisers of the event due to the issues with public liability insurance ect ect
tim Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Due to a payment taking place does this not turn it legaly in to a Rallie? that would cause issues for peoples insurance and also the organisers of the event due to the issues with public liability insurance ect ect good point but i think its ok because its not goin 2 be timed
Guest pooface Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 TBH it does not matter if its timed or not, its a point to point Event and that i am 99% sure turns it in to a rallie, would be well worth checking up with the people that organise the London to brighton Mini run, other wise Loose the £1 admin fee and have someone collect donations on the site that way it will stop it being a "proffit" making event based on the fact the other £10 is the councils parking fee + chances are most people will give more than £1 on the night in a donation
johnny_h Posted January 17, 2007 Author Report Posted January 17, 2007 Profit my arse! Lol, the money I have spent in phonecalls alone!
tim Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 i remember a thread about an insurance company wouldnt pay out as the car was travelin in convoy to a show and crashed and they got out of payin out, worth check insurance
Guest pooface Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Profit my arse! Lol, the money I have spent in phonecalls alone!Does not matter you are still charging a Nominal fee of £1 that makes all the difference from a legal point of view, the person or persons organising it are leagaly responsible for any incidents that happen at the event hence the need for public liability insurance and probably need st johns ambulance ect to be there for saftey, its all a load of shit realy! But yes most insurance certs have a bit in as my one does saying it does not cover for historic rallie's ect Going back 4-5 years the origisers of the T BOB cruise at brookwood had insurance costs of £3k for one day and £500 for st johns to have 2 crews there! that was a Static Car show
Noodles Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 In my insurance that I had I decleared that I took the car to shows and events does that count? 1
tim Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 persons organising it are leagaly responsible for any incidents that happen at the event hence the need for public liability insurance your ment 2 have that at shows aswell but we dont
johnny_h Posted January 17, 2007 Author Report Posted January 17, 2007 So when does a group of mates going for a blast down to the seaside become an event? Three mates putting money together, four, five, fifty? It's not a rally, it's not a race or even a show. Please enlighten me as you seem to know a lot. If you went out for a meal with mates are you saying you wouldn't contribute to the cost of the meal or the taxi ride home for fear of your insurance company catching up with you? I seriously would like to see where what we are doing is a concern for our insurance companies. As long as you are insured Social, domestic and pleasure what is the problem?
