sambo Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Just wondering.... I need to get a car part (axle) delivered from Leeds from a private buyer. Ideally i would like to go and get it, see it and hand over the cash but the distance is too much and i dont have a reliable daily car so I am thinking of sending the money via paypal to the guy and getting him to send it via a courior that i arrange. Now, what does paypal cover me for? If the item is, say faulty or broken (bent, LSD knackered etc) or generally not as described??? What help could i expect from paypal. This is not an EBAY purchase though so i dont know where i would stand? Any help would be appreciated.
SmokeEm Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Why don't you ask StevePeanut to pick it up for you - he lives in Leeds
sambo Posted January 30, 2010 Author Report Posted January 30, 2010 Its a pretty big place though aint it? I gues he might be able to check it over for me but i'd have to send the money through first anyway. I can get UPS to collect it no proble. Not sure on the best way to do this?
sambo Posted January 30, 2010 Author Report Posted January 30, 2010 Nobody know what paypal covers???
racingbrett Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 id say ur not covered for anything from paypal Please also note that “Significantly Not as Described” Claims which are associated with a purchase of an item outside of eBay are not eligible for re-imbursement under PayPal’s protections for buyers unless the purchase was funded via your PayPal Account with PayPal Credit. Please also note that personal transaction payments are not eligible for re-imbursement under any of PayPal’s protection for buyers.
Jiffer Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 dont know much about paypal but if steve or someone can check it out and get a bit of a way down the A1 say worksop, I can get it as far as cambs for you. just an idea
racingbrett Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 never knew pay-pal was so crummy even if u were covered, if they decide in your favor they can only re-imburse you if the guy has got money in his pay-pal account.
sambo Posted January 30, 2010 Author Report Posted January 30, 2010 Hmmm.... cheers guys, but it sounds like it might get a bit complicated! I might have to just take my chances. It's quite a bit of money though.
Smudger105e Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 If you have a problem with the stuff that you are supplied, you can always take him to the small claims court...
retrorigg Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 you can put a claim in to paypal and if he dont give them a reasonable answers to there questions they,ll give you your money back, as soon as you complain they take the money from him and hold it in their (paypals own ) account until the matter is resolved
