whats a good primer to use on running gear and springs? thanks.

if you can afford it get them powder coated, especially the springs

 

or use a good quality zinc primer and paint with por 15 it goes on very nice even with a brush which means its going on thicker ie better protection

stonechip proof primer is also very handy to use, followed by hammerite. gives the paint that little bit more "flex" to absorb chipping

yer id say hammerite. but powder coating is the best option.

Powder coating springs? Wouldn't it crack off as the springs flex through compression and expansion?

Rustoleum is a similar product to hammerite, but much

easier to use, and it can be thinned with white spirit.

Bigger choice of colours too

Good decorating shops will have it

all you guys using hammerite need to try POR seriously its like an enamel finish even when brushed
