m1c Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 nooooo that was the day after my birthday, ive even convinced the wife to go! how typical.
Tucker Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 Thats a bit crap, do u know why it was cancelled? i know last year the marina was having building work done so they didnt know where to put us
lotusless Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 it was cancelled due to the high costs, the marina cant hold any events because there is a market on the site now. but i am in contact with another council at the moment for another run (not brighton) hopefully i will have some news early next week, but it will be the same date 5th sep
SebringRS Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Fingers crossed all goes to plan T'was looking forward to it, give the RS a good run
banarama Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 well done/ got your email/ will try soon . we need another run
JAY PS Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Sorry but why do we have to go to the marina ? Theres so many places to park in Brighton ,along the seafront surely we dont need this to be as organised and to cost actual money !
lotusless Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Sorry but why do we have to go to the marina ?Theres so many places to park in Brighton ,along the seafront surely we dont need this to be as organised and to cost actual money ! we were not using the marina! the council were going to close a part of madiera drive (by the pier) but as i said the costs were too high as for just turning up + parking.. have you ever tried to park in brighton? you would never be able to park up say 100 cars with the spaces that are down there but if you like you could run it m8 + make sure you put on a nice bright hi-viz jacket so that everyone can come to you for directions to a FREE parking space

red-rum816 Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 what about a london 2 southend lots of room and lots of fun and u dont need 2 book anything just turn up and show of our loverly old fords and show the boys with the plastic what a real car should look like , lots of pubs and clubs lots of fun in the adventure island theme park take a walk along the longest pier in britian.
FredTransit Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 SIX GRAND!!??? What was that for? Was it the insurance? no fred the 6k was just to shut their precious road the insurance was on top of that Bit of lateral thinking here. Do Brighton have a Film Dept? I have never heard of any production company paying that much to shut a road......
Admin Mk2Jo Posted February 22, 2010 Admin Report Posted February 22, 2010 It costs £2500 for closure of the middle section of Madeira Drive if we don't charge people to attend or £6000 if we do charge people to get in as it then becomes a commercial venture and not just an enthusiast venture .... film companies have clearly not filmed along Madeira Drive except of course the cult film Quadrophenia and I don't suppose it was that much back then
martinmk2 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 the classic invasion of southend 2009 was organised by us at www.essex-classics.co.uk maybe osf could leave from the ace stop off at the 127diner then the 2010 invasion of southend for free.here are pics of my 2009 event.
