to be honest ive got a feeling that they are in Brazil.

I was in Mexico (i think, could have been Cuba, cant really remember when it was) but i saw a mk1 escort in a reallyyyyy weird spec but the kind of spec that reminded me of something else... and then i realized what it was. it was built the same way as them old vw beetles they still make is Brazil. All the parts that were meant to be chrome were black, had these odd wheels on but aparently ford, everything looked standard and factory fitted and the car looked like it was a couple of years old, but wasnt a mint restored car, just a daily driver.

ive been trying to find out but i havnt really got very far with this.

imagine knowing where they are made and buying some...

thats interesting, but I have never heard off anyone in the ford scene that the presses are still around. I heard all the old ford tooling was scrapped off. I would have thought if cars like that were still being built, they would have definately been imported over here, like the mexican/brazilian beetles have been

why bother? theres a company that can do you a mk1 shell in fiberglass then you NEVER have to worry about body rust

Now ask a company to put you in the internals inside that GRP shell ... and yeah yeah we have a rolling chassis foe what was it ,.. 12k ... tht still leaves you with sealing it up..ie floors and bulkheads.. the space frame is easy..the sealing panels are hard once a spaceframe has been built.

If onlt we had a company that made a center tub, that went from sill to sill , front window lower edge and rear window lower edge , with bolt on points to do your own front and rear spaceframes, .... hmmmmm be back later,
