bortaf Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Built by Boreham for Julian Raymond The only Mk5 works rally car (well semi works really Boreham built it but development was finished of by Bob Brain Developments) ran a Neil Brown grp 1 Essex running a close ratuio 4 speed box with hewland gears, 5 linked Grp4 rear axle, vented discs all round and apparently handled very similar to a double decker bus That pic was taken on the Lampton lion park sprint but not 100% sure of the date and i think lewis hoyland was driving it in that pic, the car didn't do very well at all and changed hands a good few times in it's first 3 or 4 years including getting a reshell at one point after a big off
retrorigg Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 it actually looks lop sided body wise in the above pic
bortaf Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 here he is looking ever so happy to get the car And a gratuitous engine shot
