tina2 Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 I,ve decided to put my Anglia back on the road this year. It,s been stashed away for a couple of years while I finished my Cortina. I,m going to do a few more mods and will be changing the wheels and may add Broadspeed style stripes. It needs a few fixes but I,ll see how I get on.
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 be good feeling to get it back on the road
tina2 Posted March 13, 2010 Author Report Posted March 13, 2010 could someone tell me how to put photos up . I will get my wife to do it as I,m not up to speed with this new fangled technology. If I cant put a spanner to it I.m pretty well stuffed
tina2 Posted March 14, 2010 Author Report Posted March 14, 2010 Got the new engine mounts fitted today, old ones were sagging causing the engine to drop. Freed of the front brakes and fitted the bumper brackets for bumperettes I made years ago . I think I will be refitting the grill as well. Wheels are either going to be compomotive 6x13 or Dunlops. I found a bit more rust in the bottom of the passenger side A post as well . I will sort all the mechanicals first then do the welding then tidy up the bodywork. Plan is to be back on road by end of April.
tina2 Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 Pretty much done everything to the Anglia had it running tonight . Some water coming out of waterpump which I knew about and am going to replace , then noticed water coming out at bellhousing, that,ll be the core plug then . Oh well engine out next, buggar
baz105e Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 dont take much to pull the engine out of an anglia sure you'll have it done in no time
tina2 Posted April 30, 2010 Author Report Posted April 30, 2010 Shoudnt take to long hate it when unexpected work comes up. It,ll give me a chance to clean up the engine bay so it,s not all bad.
tina2 Posted May 8, 2010 Author Report Posted May 8, 2010 Well, thats the waterpump and core plugs done, started at 12 o clock engine out and back in running at 3.30 . Got the paint stripped of the alloys , next job is to paint bottom of doors and get the Broadspeed stripes done. Nearly there.
d8vyr Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 can`t get too many anglia`s on the road m8...how far up north are you and what`s the colour of the car.... cheers davy
tina2 Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 Just did the Broadspeed stripes on the Anglia today. Looks realy good , now I just need to finish polishing the alloys although Im starting to think about putting the Dunlop alloys on instead of the Compomotives.
