compressor help

i have one of those smallish diy compressors , ive used it to spray cars etc and works well, all of a sudden its stopped letting air out of the pipe, removed the pipe and its not the pipe thats the problem , its building the air up in the tank but not letting it out , any ideas

As above soleniod, mine does it occasionally, it was made in 1974 though.

 

If you can't find it just tap everything with a hammer

mine had a big black valve/tap on then another little one both in line to the air hose these played up on mine so i done without them its ok now
