hi had a new clutch put in my escort van went to start it and nothing battery light staying on the dash realised wires wrong on starter motor so changed this and battery light wont go out still any ideas

I'm no mechanic but is the alternator working and charging ok?

Hi mate i had this problem when i changed a starter changing the wires round cured the problem but check that the smaller of the 3 wires isnt broken as this happened on a fiesta it didnt look broken but it had corroded inside so i chopped it back abit the renewed the wire job done
