engine paint

I thought while my new pinto was in the garage waiting to go in, it would be a good idea to paint the block.

 

But I have no idea about what kind of paint to use? is it specialist engine paint?

Tetysol (spelling) do a line of good engine paint,plenty of colours to choose from

my engine builder (sussex engines) use hammerite garage door paint and they swear by it! seems OK to me.

Hammerite on all mine, no problems so far, but they don't stop oil leaks:-)

Most paints will be fine provided the engine is 101% clean and degreased ie; no oil residue

just got some high tempreture paint for my new engine going to gunk it first

just popped into the local car painters...they made up a can of high temp spray in silver ( so i can see the leak's) .. 2/coats and laquer.... job done.....
