evil knievel Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 One of the leaf springs is broken on my Capri, and as we know when they are the car drives like a pig! So I ordered new single leafs, poly bushes, and lowering kit (just because)... I got the bushes in, which wasn't to painful, but imagine my frustration when I found that somebody has welded a plate over the access section to the front bolt on the leaf spring! So obviously I didn't get it done. That was time out in the rain spent for no reason! I adjusted my handbrake while I was there so it wasn't a total loss So now I have to wait until I can get it up on a ramp and have the plate removed, do the springs, and get it welded up where it needs it. Fun fun...
killerkerry89 Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 hmmm, i have a horrible feeling thats what i've done to mine. at least you're safe in the knowledge that you aren't the dummy responsible, unlike myself! D'oh!
Fishtailparka Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 I thought Ford welded that plate there themselves. They are not the easiest things to get at.
Pipster007 Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 There should be an access hole that you fit a tool of some kind to get on the bolt. I got round it by buying a socket and welding a flat piece of steel bar to it
Rusty Bodie Posted May 14, 2010 Report Posted May 14, 2010 ugh what a nightmare! well best of luck! rusty
